Privacy Policy

Translation text

When you request a translation, the translation text is sent through our Cloudflare-hosted API to OpenRouter and the selected model provider so they can generate the result. We do not intentionally write translation text to our application database or usage ledger. Third-party providers may process request data under their own privacy and retention policies, so do not submit passwords, payment details, medical records, or other sensitive information.

The English to Somali Chrome extension follows the same flow. Its toolbar popup sends text you enter, and its right-click feature sends only the English text you explicitly select on a page. The extension does not read page content until you select text and request a translation, and it does not store selected text in an account.

Abuse prevention and usage limits

Cloudflare supplies network information such as your IP address when handling requests. For rate limiting, the site converts the client address into a salted one-way hash and stores counters such as request and character totals. The usage ledger is reset on a daily schedule and is used to protect the service from automated abuse and unexpected API costs.

Cloudflare Turnstile may also process device and network signals when a security check is required. The site does not receive your Turnstile analysis details; it receives a verification result.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics may be enabled to measure page views and product interactions such as clicking navigation, translating, copying, or changing modes. Analytics events are designed not to include the translation text itself. Google may use cookies or similar identifiers according to its services and your browser settings.

Browser storage

The Save phrase control stores the source text, result, language direction, and save time in local storage on your device. This information remains in your browser and can be removed by clearing site data. It is not synchronized to an account.
